Groovy March is Reading Month Bulletin Board

Our theme for March is Reading Month this year was Feelin' Groovy! The kids thought it was cool to have their pictures create a peace sign. We also included some pictures of the covers of some of our recent favorite books! Its a little blurry but the sign says "Keep Calm and Read a Groovy Book!"

Spring Bulletin Board

We loved making colorful, three-dimensional butterflies! Greay way to add some spring cheer to our hallway!

Winter Bulletin Board

The kids loved making their own unique snowflakes for this board!

Christmas Songs

The Reindeer Pokey

(to the tune of The Hokey Pokey)
You put your antlers in.
You put your antlers out.
You put you antlers in,
And you shake them all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

Continue with phrases below:

You put your hooves in....
You put your red nose in....
You put your fluffy tail in...
You put your reindeer body in…

Call Rudolph

Eight little reindeer pulling Santa's sled,
One fell down and bumped his head.
The elves called Santa and Santa said,
"Can seven little reindeer pull my sled?"

Count down the same way until you get to the last part below:

One little reindeer pulling Santa's sled,
He fell down and bumped his head.
The elves called Santa and Santa said,
"Call Rudolph!"

Where is My Gingerbread Man?

(to the tune of "Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?")
Oh where, oh where is my Gingerbread Man?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
He popped out of the oven and ran out the door.
Oh where, oh where can he be?

I'm a Little Snowman

(to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a little snowman,
Short and fat.
Here are my buttons,
Here is my hat.
When the sun comes out,
I'll melt away.
But I'll be back
On a snowy day!

10 Little Elves

10 little elves jumping in the sleigh,
One falls off and slides away.
Santa calls the reindeer and the reindeer say.,
"No more jumping in Santa's sleigh!"

(Repeat until you get to 1.)

Fall Songs

Tiny Little Apple Seed

(to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider")
The tiny little apple seed
was planted in the ground,
down came the rain,
falling all around,
out came the sun,
as bright as can be,
and the tiny little apple seed
became an apple tree!

Four Red Apples

(sung to the tune of "This Old Man")
Four red apples, on the tree
Two for you and two for me
So-o shake that apple tree and watch them fall
One, two, three, four, that is all.

Farmer Brown

Farmer Brown had 10 red apples
Hanging from a tree
He picked one apple
And ate it hungrily
(make eating noise)

Continue the song, counting down the number of apples.

Five Red Apples

Five red apples in a grocery store,
Bobby bought one & then there were 4.
Four red apples on an apple tree,
Susie ate one & then there were 3.
Three red apples, what did Alice do?
Why she ate one & then there were 2.
Two red apples ripening in the sun,
Tommy ate one, & now there was 1.
One red apple & now we are done,
I ate the last one & now there are none!

(I always use the kids' names!)

Five Autumn Leaves

5 autumn leaves were hanging from a tree.
The first one said, “Soon we’ll be free!”
The second one said, “I’m falling down to the ground!”
The third one said, “I’ll fly to town!”
The fourth one said, “Let’s not wait!”
The fifth one said, “Isn’t fall great?”

Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down

Autumn leaves are falling down,
falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down,
Yes, it’s autumn.

Rake the leaves and jump right in,
Jump right in, jump right in.
Rake the leaves and jump right in,
Yes, it’s autumn!

5 Crows All Shiny Black

5 crows all shiny black,
Sat on a scarecrow's back,
Eating some most delicious corn...yum yum!
Scarecrow winked and shouted "Boo!"
Scared one crow and away he flew,
Now there are 4 black shiny crows...caw caw!

4 crows all shiny black,
Sat on a scarecrow's back,
Eating some most delicious corn...yum yum!
Scarecrow winked and shouted "Boo!"
Scared one crow and away he flew,
Now there are 3 black shiny crows...caw caw!

3 crows all shiny black,
Sat on a scarecrow's back,
Eating some most delicious corn...yum yum!
Scarecrow winked and shouted "Boo!"
Scared one crow and away he flew,
Now there are 2 black shiny crows...caw caw!

2 crows all shiny black,
Sat on a scarecrow's back,
Eating some most delicious corn...yum yum!
Scarecrow winked and shouted "Boo!"
Scared one crow and away he flew,
Now there is 1 black shiny crow...caw caw!

1 crow all shiny black,
Sat on a scarecrow's back,
Eating some most delicious corn...yum yum!
Scarecrow winked and shouted "Boo!"
Scared one crow and away he flew,
Now there are no black shiny crows...caw caw!

Flutter, Flutter Little Bat

(To the tune of: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”)
Flutter, flutter little bat,
How I wonder where you’re at.
Swooping through the darkest night,
You find  your way without a light.
Flutter, flutter little bat,
How I wonder where you’re at!

The Pumpkin Song

(sung to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot)
There's a little pumpkin on a vine,
With all the others, it grows in a line.
When it's big and orange, that's the sign.
I'll pick it and make it mine!

Winter Songs

Polar Pokey

(to the tune of "The Hokey Pokey")
You put your left paw in,
You put your left paw out,
You put your left paw in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the polar pokey,
As you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

Continue with parts below:
(right paw, tail, ears, nose, furry body)

Putting on My Mittens

(to the tune of “She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain”)
I’ll be putting on my mittens when it’s cold,
I’ll be putting on my mittens when it’s cold,
I’ll be putting on my mittens,
I’ll be putting on my mittens,
I’ll be putting on my mittens when it’s cold.

(Continue with “making lots of snowballs,” “riding on my sled,” etc.)
