I am in my eighth year of teaching kindergarten at Crossroads Charter Academy. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University, majoring in Child Development and minoring in mathematics and reading. I earned my Master's Degree from Ferris State University in Curriculum & Instruction. I love to read, cook, and spend time with family and friends. Teaching is an amazing job in that I get to grow and learn along with my students. I feel honored to be part of such a wonderful team (family really) of educators working to create enriching, meaningful learning experiences for their students. I could't imagine myself doing anything else!

The kids were SO excited for the parade! We were thankful it did not rain but the wind almost carried us away! hehe

Leprechaun Surveillance!

We were on leprechaun surveillance on St. Patrick's Day and were keeping our eyes out for those sneaky, mischievous little guys we had been reading about. While we were being read to by Mrs. Noreen in her classroom, we must have missed one make an appearance in our classroom! We returned to find our classroom a mess! A leprechaun left footprints on our table and a message on the whiteboard! It also left us gold coins!

Christmas Bulletin Boards

I am getting our past bulletin boards up quite late but here they are! The kids loved decorating their own ornaments, in which I put a picture of them on, and helping make the chain-link Christmas tree!

Below is a bulletin board we put up on the first floor using the kids' hand prints in kindergarten and first grade.
